Django is off to Kinshasa!
We took him to the airport this morning for his very first flight. He’s excited and nervous but trusting in God’s plan for him. Just yesterday we found a place for him to stay and even someone who is willing to pick him up from the airport. Now, for getting a passport and student visa. Please pray.
We are just so encouraged by what God is doing in his life and how God is discipling and changing him into a man of God.
We can’t wait to see the impact he is going to have on the D.R.C!
UPDATE:
Django is in Kinshasa. Someone was even there to pick him up from the airport and had actually prepared a room for him to stay in while he attempts to get his passport. What’s even more amazing, out of the four thousand or so different tribal languages, this person actually speaks Django’s native tongue!
This may not sound as amazing to you as it does to us, but pretty much ever since Django bought his ticket to the D.R.C. his friends have been telling him how hard it was going to be for him in Kinshasa and how he’s going to be given a hard time because he doesn’t speak Lingala. In fact, it is funny in the D.R.C. you don’t tell anyone you are going on a trip until the day before you make the trip, I think, because of a lot of this kind of negative talk. Apparently, if it doesn’t work out then your friends can tell you I told you so. But Django was really trying to apply his faith to the way he thought about this situation and also use the situation as an opportunity to glorify God, so he had been asking for prayer and praising God for the way He provided.
We’ll keep updating you as we find out more information! Thanks for your concern.
