Six Questions Good Friends Ask

23 Jul

We often miss discipleship opportunities because we make discipling more complicated than it really is. If discipleship is helping others grow in Christ and we help others grow in Christ as we speak the truth in love, then almost every single conversation becomes an opportunity to be encouraged and to encourage others in their spiritual life.

One way to take advantage of these opportunities is to learn to ask the right questions. Now of course, these kinds of questions are meaningless if there’s no love for Christ behind them or no love for the person in front of you. But when combined with real love, I think learning to look for the answers to these questions becomes a path towards really being of help to other people.

1. What’s really going on in your life?

2. How do you feel about what’s happening?

3. What are you thinking about it all?

4. What are people around you telling you about what’s taking place?

5. What do you think God has to do and say about what’s going on in your life?

6. What does God actually say He is doing in the middle of what is going on in your life?

For more, see the article Friendship Counseling by David Powlison. What a difference it might make if we learned have conversations with our friends like this?!

according to this,we can really see how selfish we are.Not caring fr others.it may take a littlebit of work, becoz asking those questions f4m others might hav been taken as an insult! God open our hearts to really try this things in our lives. These ar good things fr good believes of a good church!
